Holiday Recipe Swap

I have been busy finishing my Stars and Stripes Wallhanging. I finished all of the machine quilting, and now I just have the binding to do. I will post a pic of the quilt this weekend, so you can see how it turned out. As to Halloween, the procession and fireworks were cancelled as we have been having storms the last few days. There were lots of parties in the pubs, but Joe and I stayed home snug as two bugs in a rug. Today, we had gale winds, and it was nice to be home with Joe and the boys. Also, Joe and I are going to Letterkenny on Monday to have the Swine Flu vaccine...I am not looking forward to that, but as we have had lots of cases in Ireland, we feel that it is a good idea!

On a brighter note, Karrie from Stay Home Mommy Blog is having a Holiday Recipe Swap, which I have joined, and the bash will be on November 13th. I love to get new recipes, and I am excited about this idea that Karrie came up with. Please visit her blog, and if you want to join in, just get the info about the swap from her post and grab her swap button. It should be a lot of fun!

You can get the Swine Flu vaccine! Good for you.

Here, I know of kids [the most vulnerable group] and pregnant mother, who can't. :-( And as far as _our_ age, forget it.

Good thing you're in Ireland and not the US, right now.

Lot's of shortages of that vaccine in the USA. I have Type 1 diabetes, and would love to be able to find a place to receive it, but I don't think that will happen for a while.

It's nice to be snug at home away from the storms. The swine flu shot is okay Micki, I had it last week and I didn't get any reaction from it at all - Hugs Nat

Hi Micki! I was browsing through a copy of Irish Quilting recently [first one I've managed to get my hands on!] when I came across your name in an article about quilting blogs! Good for you!

Hi Micki,
Good thing to get the vaccine...I too need to check about getting it here in California. I don't want to, but I'd better. Anyway, glad to see everythings fine in Ireland. Yvonne :)

I don't think they have the vaccine here at all. I have never had the flu!

Sounds like the perfect weather to stay in and sew! Or cuddle with Joe on the couch!

Too bad about the Phillies but at least they made it back to the World Series again!

I also can't wait to see your finished quilt. A recipe swap sounds like fun. I don't know if I will be able to join but I will certainly stop by to see all of the recipes if I don't. I hope you are having a lovely day ♥ It's a beautiful fall day here in the states.

My daughter came home from Disneyland with the swine flu, and was able to get on Tamiflu right away. We understand she was pretty fortunate to get the perscription because it's so hard to come by.

Lovely photo! Here in England, we haven't had the gales you have suffered, but the fireworks have upset our dogs.We are having a party for Ellies birthday today and all the wrapping paper is taking her mind off it :D
