I am back to blogging. I have had a trying time with an accident last year and recently with cancer surgery, but I am lucky to be in tip top shape now. My niece Marla, who is an avid Facebook fan told me the best way to communicate with her is through Facebook, so I began to write in Facebook again, and realized how much I missed it. In addition, I sorely missed my blogging,so hopefully, you will welcome me back.
To get you caught up a bit with my life here in Ireland....Joe and I moved to The Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Joe's mom was born in County Kerry, and I read a book called
The House on the Irish Hillside by Felicity Hayes-McCoy telling about how a couple fell in love with the Dingle Peninsula, found a cottage to renovate, and ultimately found true happiness. Well, you can guess what happened next. I had to go see it for myself, and I stayed at The Anchor Inn.

I will be making a quilt for Maya, and asked for help on Facebook as to which pattern I should use. All voted, and this one won:
I am ordering the fabric this week, and I will start sewing the quilt next week. I will show you the quilt top when I sew it together.

I explored the area and found us a beautiful house in Ballinclare, and we moved there.
Our home is in a beautiful valley, and the views are incredible.

As you can see, it is a lovely farming community.
Our favourite hangout is The South Pole Pub, which is on the Main Street near the Annascaul River. It's a great place to have a meal or listen to a music session.
As for family news,I am now a great aunt to my niece's beautiful baby girl named Maya.
I am glad to be back. I hope to share with you my quilting, and also my weaving. During my absence from blogging, I have gotten into weaving fabric.

Welcome back. I only do occasional posts myself on my blog....and don't read blogs much anymore, either. :( Facebook is just so much easier for me, it seems. Your new home is lovely and so are the views. We visited that area when we went on our trip to Ireland in 1994 and it is truly a special place.

Glad to hear that you are feeling much better. Welcome back to blogging- I have been a neglectful blogger myself lately- Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging and sometimes one needs to take time to do different things. Like Pat, I keep track of many blogging friends on Facebook.

Welcome back Micki. I found your blog from the Quilters Blog, Blogger list and because I love Ireland so much, had to take a peek. You are so very lucky to have moved there! I visited County Cork back in 1993 when I was first able to jump the pond in my genealogy work. I was able to visit the same town where they were from, and felt like I was home. Looking forward to visiting there through your blog and wishing you health and happiness.

How wonderful to have you back once again. I quit blogging shortly after you did -when my husband passed away. That has almost been 2 years now.
