Crazy Patterned Pincushion

I completed the top of a pincushion that I am making, in a crazy quilt pattern, as you can see. I just have to stuff it and finish it off, and I will show it to you in a day or so completely stuffed. I appliqued the flowers and butterfly, and did some hand stitching of flowers in the orange and lighter pink sections and of the antennas of the butterfly. I also did a buttonhole stitch along some of
the seams....Hope you can see it all. I added a bit of lace and buttons, and if you can see, there are pearls around the buttons of the pink and yellow flowers. I love pincushions, but this one will just be decorative. I have a shelf that I will put it on near my sewing, and then I can just look at it. It is all felt material, and I wish that you could see it in person, as the felt fabrics are so pretty and soft. I love wool, and will have to make one in wool too. What can I say? I just love pincushions!!!!

I hope spring comes soon, as I love Ireland in the spring,. It is just so green and gorgeous! Joe and I love taking our long walks each morning. The scenery makes the walk go so quickly. One never takes the beauty of this place for granted.

Beautiful applique and stitching.
I love the look of crazy quilts but need to learn more stitches. I did get some books from the library to practice with.

The lace, buttons, etc. make lovely additions for the pin cushion.

A lovely pincushion, no wonder you want to keep it just to look at rather than to use. Hope your Vagabond arrives soon.

I love your little pincushion, I have never tried making one out of wool felt, but I do love the 3D effect that results!!!

What a darling pin cushion. I must have 5 of them around my sewing machine and chair where I sit at night and still I look longingly at ones I see.
Ireland in Spring! I'm so glad you said that, I'm getting excited to see it in person.

Hi Micki,
I just read your story about Israel...Oh my gosh, what a story that is...and I'm so sorry that you had to go through so much...So, now of course, I'm wondering how you and Joe met and how you ended up in Ireland. And also, that is amazing that your mother's dairy is in the museum...Both of my kids (who are grown) have been to that museum and I wonder if they saw it....My daughter was also at the Anne Frank apt. in Amsterdam...

I love your pincushion. It is really cute.

Hi Micki Sweetie...
I am so tickled to see this beautiful creation of yours this morning. I can't wait to see your pincushion complete. I recently bought a couple of patterns and am going to try my hand at making a couple of pinkeeps as well. I love the quilting pieces that you did, and the addition of the little embellishments make it so personal. I just love it sweetie.

I hope you are well. Are you still keeping up your walks? Many hugs to you sweet one and so much love, Sherry
