This is a wonderfully heartwarming story about a seal named Ryan, who was rescued by the Irish Seal Sanctuary. A young man named Ryan found him on a beach in Wales, and he called the Sanctuary, who then took the injured seal to the Sanctuary for treatment.The seal was named Ryan after the young man who saved his life.He the man who is dressed in white fleece who is helping to carry the seal to the beach. It was then posted in our local shop that Ryan would be released to the sea again on October 20, 2007 at Killahoey Beach, which luckily was right near our home.Many people came to our beach to see it, and of course, we were there. We were able to go up to the carrier where Ryan the Seal was...They had him in there with another seal called Sally who had been also rescued, and of course releasing them together gave them a much better chance of survival, as they would have company.Joe and I pet both of them, and they were so friendly. Then they were let out of the cage...All the people had formed two rows, and we watched them waddle down to the beach as we cheered. They swam out a bit, but kept on coming back to the Sanctuary people, as if to say that they didn't want to leave them...It was sad to see them not wanting to leave the people who had taken care of them so many months. Finally, they went out to sea together. It was such a memorable day for the two of us and everyone. I was happy for Ryan and Sally that they were free at last, but sad that they had to say farewell to the people whom they loved. Joe and I often walk on Killahoey Beach, and I look out at the sea, and I often wonder if Ryan and Sally are happy.
